Kevin & Jami and their family

For Steinway Piano Gallery owners Kevin and Jami Rindlisbacher, pianos have always played a major role in their lives. Kevin and Jami feel a great deal of satisfaction sharing the world’s finest pianos with their Spokane area clients. Kevin hails from a family of musicians. His grandfather, Harold Rindlisbacher, was a founder of the Granite Youth Symphony in the Salt Lake valley, a fine violinist and life-long orchestra director. Kevin’s parents, Hal and Mary Rindlisbacher, spent their dating years attending dance jobs with the family dance band. Hal, along with three of his brothers followed Harold’s footstep and became school music directors. While teaching school, Hal opened a part time music store in 1968 in an old chicken coop behind his house in Riverton, Utah. In 1980, after 21 years of public school teaching, Hal decided to devote his full attention to his music store.

In 1983, after serving a mission for his church, Kevin joined his father at Riverton Music. Kevin graduated cum laude from the University of Utah with a B.S. degree in business finance. Kevin later purchased the company from his father.

Jami grew up three blocks from Kevin’s home. At age 15 Jami was hired to work at Riverton Music. Several years later Kevin and Jami were married. Throughout the late 90’s and early 2000’s, several suppliers suggested to Kevin that the Spokane market was underserved. In 2004, Kevin and Jami decided to follow Steinway’s suggestion and made plans to open a store in Spokane. While investigating Spokane they became aware of Jack and Normalu Cooper’s desire to retire. Kevin and Jami purchased Davis

and Hosch Music. Kevin and Jami will forever be grateful to Jack and Normalu—two of the finest people they have ever known. Jack and Normalu guided Kevin and Jami as they spent a year and a half becoming familiar with the Spokane market before opening their Steinway Piano Gallery. Rather than hire someone to run the Spokane store, Kevin and Jami decided that after 40 years of living within a 150’ radius, they would move

their family to Spokane. They, along with their five children, settled in Liberty Lake and quickly felt right at home. Kevin is an accomplished pianist and continues to take lessons. Kevin relies on his knowledge of the piano to assist his clients in selecting the right piano for them. Being a Steinway dealer is the fulfillment of his desire to provide his clients with the best piano possible regardless of the price range. Kevin loves to go to the Steinway store early in the morning and practice on different pianos. Stop by the Steinway Piano Gallery and ask him to play his favorite piano!

Chosen by Steinway

There are only 64 authorized Steinway dealers in North America.  It is the most sought after dealership in the piano industry.  Steinway holds its dealers to the highest standards of service, merchandising, community involvement and integrity.  Steinway would rather have no representation than poor representation.  For this reason, Spokane had been without an authorized Steinway dealer for nearly a decade.  Kevin Rindlisbacher’s Steinway Piano Gallery of Spokane was appointed the Spokane dealer on October 1, 2006.
